Full Time, Days, 8a-5p - On Call, as needed to support team, can include weekends
Orients all cardiovascular/imaging personnel to the department and acquires initial required paperwork for new employees; works in collaboration with education department to evaluate and determines learning needs for new employees as well as existing employees; provides teaching and instruction in classroom as well as clinical environments; plans, evaluates and adjusts orientation programs for new employees.
Develops plan, in collaboration with education department for ongoing staff competency and maintains agreed upon competencies for all team members.
Assists manager with evaluation, praise and corrective action as needed; assists Director, Manager with candidate interviews as requested.
Serves as a role model for all cardiology/imaging employees by assisting/providing procedure support and patient care as needed. Coordinates the activities of other staff preceptors and provides consistency in instruction.
Monitors and controls the students/orientees in the lab area to facilitate patient safety and efficient use of personnel. Collaborates with manager to develop accurate and objective employee appraisals.
Develops and maintains an effective working relationship with other departments and vendors, etc. Communicates to the Director, Manager the needs and issues and provides solutions that affect cardiovascular/imaging services efficiency on a daily basis. Provides positive communication to employees, patients and families, the public and outside organizations.
Plans and assists in staff meetings, communicating any issues/new equipment, etc. to staff in a positive and timely manner.
Assists quality assurance personnel with creating and updating department policies and procedures. Monitors and records compliance and applicable outside regulating agencies.
Active participation, facilitation and documentation of department approved key process improvement indicators. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department and program.
Fills in for the manager in his/her absences.
What Will You Need:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Ability to work flexible schedule according to needs of department
Thorough knowledge of department equipment and operation, as well as radiation emitting equipment/devices
BLS and ACLS
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Graduate of a school of Registered Nurse
Three years of invasive experience in respective specialty
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
At least five years of experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory and/or electrophysiology laboratory
BSN or equivalent
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Current active license or registration by the State of Florida as RN

Job Summary: The Clinical Educator/ Supervisor - Invasive provides education and training services to employees caring for pediatric through gerontologic patients through the assessment of learning needs, teaching and orienting of cardiovascular/imaging personnel; evaluation of learning and planning for follow-up in deficient area; developing the design methods and implementation of organized education programs.
