An opportunity exists for a part-time Non-Invasive Cardiologist at the Zablocki VA Medical Center located in Milwaukee, WI. The physician will also be required to have a dual appointment as clinical faculty with the Medical College of Wisconsin. The remainder of effort full-time employment will be through the affiliate. This VA is one of the main teaching centers with both fellowship and residency supervision and educational duties. Responsibilities include the performance of echocardiography interpretation including transesophageal studies. Stress testing interpretation including treadmill, echo, and myocardial perfusion imaging is expected. A significant amount of time will also be spent on the inpatient coronary care unit, with administrative duties on the CCU. Additional duties may include seeing patients in outpatient specialty clinics, performing cardiology consultations in both the inpatient and outpatient settings, participating in other noninvasive cardiac procedures such as ECG, Holter and event monitoring. Board certification in cardiology and echocardiography is strongly preferred. Experience of more than 5 years preferred. Desire candidates with current VA experience, structural imaging (ASD/PFO Closure, TAVR) and myocardial strain experience. Experience with advanced cardiac imaging, such as cardiac computer tomography, cardiac MR and/or nuclear cardiac imaging is a plus. The Cardiology Section is closely affiliated with the Medical College of Wisconsin with responsibilities for fellowship, resident and medical student training. It is expected that the applicant is qualified to be faculty at the affiliated medical school and will participate in supervisory roles in fellowship and residency programs. Research experience and the ability to attract grant funding and industry research is highly desirable.
