Schedule: Full Time, 8am – 5pm (occasional evenings)

The role you’ll contribute:
OurLegacy is designated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as the only organ procurement organization (OPO) in east central Florida and is accredited by the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) as a tissue recovery agency. OurLegacy's scope of operations extends to each of the following hospitals within the AdventHealth's Hospital system: Altamonte, Apopka, Celebration, Daytona Beach, Deland, East Orlando, Fish Memorial, Kissimmee, New Smyrna Beach, Orlando, Palm Coast, Waterman and Winter Park. Additionally, CMS has designated OurLegacy to provide organ and tissue donation services to all non-AdventHealth acute care and critical access hospitals and free-standing emergency rooms in the following counties: Brevard, Flagler, Indian River, Lake, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter and Volusia.
The Donor Hospital Liaison works closely with leadership and staff in the assigned above referenced facilities to establish effective processes and a supportive culture to consistently maximize organ and tissue donation opportunities. The Donor Hospital Liaison represents OurLegacy to all executive and clinical levels of hospital and system leadership. The Donor Hospital Liaison conducts donor case follow-up, which includes but is not limited to collecting, maintaining, and reporting of performance data to ensure hospital understanding and satisfaction with the donor experience. The Donor Hospital Liaison presents education programs for day and night shift staff, provides guidance on policy development, serves as the primary resource to donor teams, encourages collaboration for improvement initiatives and helps to coordinate recognition events, registry drives, and conferences. The Donor Hospital Liaison provides analysis, development, and implementation of an in-depth annual hospital plan, works collaboratively with the OurLegacy Clinical Services staff, and, at times, responds individually or in tandem with a clinical coordinator to an active donor referral. The Donor Hospital Liaison actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Serve as the liaison to assigned hospitals; builds and cultivate positive working relationships with hospital staff, including leadership, medical, support, and clinical staff.
Maintain ongoing on-site presence and visibility at hospitals to foster collaboration and support donation process, maximizing donation opportunities.
Ensure that donation related hospital policies are up to date, and are in compliance with federal and state requirements.
Develop and deliver strong educational presentations to hospital partners so that there is a clear understanding of the mission-critical role hospital staff play in the donation process.
Work alongside OurLegacy clinical and family services staff on referrals/donor cases to provide real-time support and to navigate hospitals challenges as they arise; this may include after-hour support.
Collaborate with hospital departments (Pathology, Respiratory, Cath Lab) OurLegacy engages with during donor cases to ensure timely completion of requested services.
Perform donation case follow-up to appreciate hospital staff and to explore if process improvements are required.
Effectively communicate and lead professional meetings with stakeholders, including but not limited to physicians, hospital administration, nursing staff, pastoral and palliative care.
Through analysis of donation data, assess each assigned hospital's educational needs for day and night shifts, develop and implement process improvements when variances exist.
Collaborate with Physician Liaison to improve physician relationships and communication, to develop process improvement strategies leading to an increase in the overall quality of donation process and outcomes.
Maintain hospital profiles within iTransplant; includes identification of hospital champions and list of key contacts.
Maintains accurate records of all hospital visits and pertinent communications in database. Documents a weekly presence in high potential facilities through records.
In collaboration with hospital's Public Relations and Communications departments, organize organ and tissue donation awareness campaigns, activities, and events within assigned hospitals as required.
Attends and participates in OurLegacy key annual events such as Remembrance Day
May visit patient room and must utilize appropriate PPE.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communication, middle grade education, biology, life sciences or health-related field OR Four (4) years of Nursing experience Current Florida RN license required
Three (3) years of work experience in business, middle school education or healthcare
Previous public relations/marketing experience, preferably within a healthcare organization, preferred
Previous hospital development or work experience within an Organ Procurement Organization, preferred
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Driver's License
